This is one of the original bolt pullers designed by Geir Hundal and distributed by the Access Fund. They use a half inch bolt rather than bal screw to generate tensile force. The Hurley Sr. is designed to connect to the hanger directly, and can be used to pull compression bolts, button heads, drilled pitons, and other bolts. They can also be used to pull “spinners” where the nut or bolt spins and cannot be unscrewed to utilize other removal methods.

Geir has information on his site with instructions to build your own, which can be done with minimal tools needed. They are made available for purchase for those unable or not interested in making their own.
